The Sad Cafe

If you haven't been able to tell, there's something about melancholic songs that always captivates me. The music is so soothing, and you always feel some sort of connection to the song. Have to say, this song by the Eagles for sure was my inspiration for today.

And this awesome amazing dress too! How amazing is it? So, we're in 2013, and the new trend for this year, what's really.. really hot right now, is what they call extreme structuring. What that means is that the dress plays with geometric shapes in order to distort your body visually in a rather appealing manner. I believe this dress is like.. hitting the nail in the head when it comes to this trend. Now, MichaMi has always sort of played with this, be it lines, or the actual structure of the dress, or even the patterns, the use of her work contributes to adding a new silhouette and more dimension to your body, and it is for this reason that I absolutely adore Milla's work. The pattern of this dress also sets it apart from all others, and in all honesty, to a lot of people, when they saw it in the marketplace, it didn't really look appealing to them, but once they saw the dress on, they were fascinated at just how the sides made the contour work of the avatar really pop out in a fashion forward manner. This dress is a must for the new years, specially given the trend for this type work that is in style this year.

To style it, keep it popping,  but simple. I know.. contradiction there, but like.. the hair, instead of having it down, you might want to keep it up, in a bun, to continue with the silhouette working. I'm wearing Magika's new hair release that came out yesterday, Now. As far as a necklace is concerned, yes, you do want a statement piece, but you don't want to steal the attention away from the dress either. A choker would do nicely here, or like I did, a high necklace, that way I'm keeping the main focus on the dress, but at the same time, I'm making a statement. LaGyo's Venhia necklace was the best choice, in my opinion, given that I wanted to part from pearls for the day. And I'm also wearing their Edwige pumps and a ring by Donna Flora to finish giving the outfit the pops it needed.. and practicality, of course. Can't leave home without your shoes!

Day In and Day Out

And so the new year starts, and the old year goes. Day in, day out. There it is, really. Funny.. once you start getting older, it all just starts blending together, days, months, years... it's all really pretty much the same. I thought the title of this song was very fitting, even though it is not the mood of the song, it just.. the title very much describes what I feel with the new coming of the year. Year in, year out.

And now, for the first post of the year, now that I got unlazy and what not with all that good.. yummy.. yummy food.. what should we talk about? Well, let's start with Blueberry and one of their newer designs. I had the pleasure of meeting Blueberry over at Crack Den, which is one of the sims that I roleplay at, and after talking, I really got inspired to blog once I got home. And so, here it is, this is one of her newest releases, this little mesh suit. I personally love the bow, it really makes it. I normally hate body suits. Hate. But the bow really did make me fall in love. Darn it. I do kind of wish it had more draping work to it, like along with the texture, but overall, I do love it, and the price isn't half bad either, which is always one of the good things about Blueberry's designs. They're gorgeous, and they don't really dent the wallet too much.

Then we have D!va as well! I went on a tiny little shopping spree, which I really shouldn't. But I'm a woman, sue me, shopping is like.. wired into my DNA. So, I got this very cute hair style, side pony tail, that I've been dying to have. The bow changes colors to match your outfit, or you can do away with it completely. Personally, I like bows. I do.. I think everything in my outfit today has a bow but the necklace.

Don't hate. Bow power!

Come Break Me Down

I'm lately totally obsessed with 30 Seconds to Mars, and I was watching the music video for The Kill, and I totally got inspired for this shoot! Mad Pea is doing a new hunt in this creepy hotel, and I just had to do something involving this song, so.. yes! I hope you enjoy the dark creepy theme for the pictures!

I do have to admit though.. there's nothing creepy about what I'm wearing in this picture! First of all, new release for Wunderland! And I'm crazy about this jeans! They have camo, studs, and regular jeans.. I stuck with the regular jeans for this just because they looked marvelous. AND they fit with some boots, ladies! So huge plus on that one. Though designers.. I'm still going to beg. Make more jeans to fit inside of boots! That would so be a dream come true. New Year's Resolution for all of you out there, maybe? :P.

Color Me H.O.F is also having a sale for the holidays. So I grabbed this shirt to go along with the look today! Make sure to run over and get to the sale while you can!!

And finally, cute hair.. cute hair.. oh how I love hair! Today I'm wearing Exile! And their new line of hairs with hats! I am  a huge fan of hats and hair accessories, but I'm so picking about prims fitting right, I never get them! That's why when I see hair with it already on.. I'm in heaven! And this style is so carefree, I just had to have it.

All These Kinds of Places Make It Seem Like It's Been Ages

With Christmas over, so does your torture of Jazzy Christmas songs... Until next year... Lately, now with New Years upon us, I'm starting to really think about life, and journeys. Roads, the ones I've traveled, and the ones that lay ahead, changes, and moving. I guess New Years always brings the nostalgic out of people.

With that being said, instead of ending Christmas in a Christmas themed post, I thought I would look ahead, and move, travel ahead. And with this, we start our journey into the New Year's.

This has actually been out for a while now, and I've been meaning to blog it, just seriously, hectic schedule! So much to do! But Somnia has an adorable group gift out for you guys, so make sure to grab it while you have the chance! The little dress/top that I'm wearing comes in the two colors shown here, red, and green. Personally, I like the red better, but that's just color preference.. Yes! My favorite color is red! Don't be hating. The flowing feel that the dress has is to die for, and it fits like a glove. I did have to go up a size from my normal size, but.. it's rare to see something that actually fits your shape quite perfectly without you having to make small tiny adjustments, specially dresses that hang around the chest like this. Completely head over heels with this gift.

Also, MoYaz has a new release at the store. You kind of saw it on one of my last posts, with the aqua boots, but here they are in black. I accompanied all of this with a pair of jeans, to go down a bit from the girly look of the dress, to more of a traveling road kinda outfit.

Felice Di Stare Lassu

Volare. Cantare. To fly. And to sing. How beautiful is that? There's something about a Spanish guitar that makes me coo. And there's something about the Italian language that just makes me melt, so sexy, ah. So.. I thought today, as we take a little sneak peek at Acid Lily items for this week, we could take a trip down to Venice as well!

So, Acid Lily is once again upon us, and with this, we start on what I think are some of the highlights for this week. I have to say, it's always a pleasure to see the collection, and some of the amazing stuff they come up with.

MoYaz is in this week's round up once again, with different boots, which are to die for, and two different dresses, well, same dress, different color, I was rather fund of the white and turquoise one because I'm going through some very odd turquoise fever at this very moment. I paired it off with their boots and some tights for a kind of unique cute look that looks like you can kick ass, and take names, but still look rather adorable.

Then you have [FIEND], who came up with a rather Christmas-y inspired look for you this holiday, I loved it, honestly, my only complaint about that outfit was that they didn't use standardize sizing, and even though I normally wear an XS on mesh clothing, I had to go up all the way to L to find one that would fit my avatar, which really makes me wonder how heavier set avatars will be able to fit with this sweater, other than that, I honestly loved the whole look for it, it is too cute to pass out on this holiday season.

Finally, for now, we have 1 Hundred, who has this cute little cropped shirt with the tights for this week's event. It's a little too punk for me, but I made it work by adding a skirt from [Auxiliary] and keeping those same boots from MoYaz.

Is That You, Santa?

I'm still listening to Jazz Christmas songs guys! And Louis is stuck in my mind! I swear, since I heard "Zat you, Santa?" This morning, all I've thought about was doing a shoot for the blog near the fire place.. and I have done just that! Ha!

So... Christmas is creeping closer and closer guys! And that can only mean one thing! It's time for more subtle Christmas fashions! Today we have a cute little vest by Wunderland, which is an amazing store that opened just a couple months ago, I found this little gem in Frost, comes to show you.. sometimes going to these fairs and doing hunts can open your eyes to new amazing SL designers that will grow up to hopefully be one of the big names in the future! This vest I've seen done a lot of different ways, it's just one of the latest trends in fashion, but the pattern on this one just captivated me, along with the color, just too adorable.

Then we have the top by Whippet and Bucket, everything in the store is 50L still! Again, I have no clue if they're closing, or if they're having a sale, but run and fill your inventory with their goodies while you can! 50L for their designs is a true bargain. I also wore the 1929 Mon Tissu Jeans to finish off the actual clothing section of it all. Designers out there, hear our plea! We want mesh pants that you can use with boots! Please and thank you! :p

Finally, the boots will be available tomorrow at Acid Lily, they're by Moyaz, and I totally love them, they have a very casual chic look that is very in right now, and they're at a bargain price for a week starting tomorrow, so don't forget to stop by and get yours while you can!

Suddenly I See

Why the hell it means so much to me. Those lyrics have always resonated in my mind, and it's also one of the songs for one of my all time favorite songs ever! The Devil Wears Prada. I mean, what else is better than Meryl Streep as Myranda Priestly? Honestly.. that movie is amazing, and the intro they did with the song.. one of the best in movie history... if you're into fashion that is. So this morning I challenge you to ask yourself, just why the hell it all means so much to you? May it be blogging, roleplaying, fashion, life, whatever your passion is! Why does it mean so much to you? What inspires you, and motivates you? I'll start. Why does blogging mean so much to me? Easy.. I have always loved SL fashion, from early times in my SL days I've followed main designers and their growth through SL, I've followed the trends, and the improvements, and now I finally get to share one of my passions with everyone, all while growing in my skills in photography and writing. What else could I ask for? It's all of my passions into one little gift package. I honestly have to thank Nicollete Blogger to actually give me the motivation to start in this new found passion of mine.

And with that out of the way, what do I have for you today? COCO! In TDR Fusion! This outfit is just magnificent  If you haven't heard of COCO, let me tell you about them briefly, for years they've been given out gifts in the store that are just amazing. Not only are they extremely generous, all of their wear is available for a very low price, and it's honestly just amazingly good quality stuff! Now that they're breaking out with more mesh goodies, it's always a worth to look at, and this little ensemble in TDR Fusion really got me inspired  just because it's so well mapped, the drape work and the texture work on it is just to die for, and the little fur collar bit with the pearls.. Oh, it's me personified in an accessory. They're available for.. I believe it was 75L each, the dress, and the accessory piece, and it's only available for two short weeks!

I made it a little more winterly by adding tights from Mon Tissu, and an undershirt from Fri.day.
