Be Yourself

Today is Bandanna day, which means.. it's time to ditch our pretty little hair, and show our support for those kids that are losing their gorgeous lucks to this horrible disease. It's hard to see them suffering. I am speechless, I can't imagine a mother going through seeing their child suffering like this.. it's unfair. So today, in the last day of this wonderful event we know as Hair Fair, it's time to show the support. I thought long and hard about how I wanted to portray this.. and I thought.. the best way to do it, was to be yourself.

You might be losing your hair like those children, I know I am! It really doesn't matter, and I'm sorry I'm lacking the right words for this, but.. I'm actually in tears writing this. But I guess what I'm saying is.. it doesn't matter what you look like, you're always a queen or a king. Just have to learn to love yourself. What's outside..it doesn't matter, it will go away. All we need is what's inside, the small things that make us happy. So.. regardless what your position is today, or your health, or.. just whatever, just be yourself, and love yourself unconditionally for it. Like.. for myself, I'm a geek, I'm a dork, I like clothes, and half of the time in RL, I do look like this.. sue me, I'm a total geek, and you know what? I love that about me! It's what makes me unique and fun to be around. 

I want to thank all the sponsors for this wonderful event, every designer that was able to put all the petty differences, and all the bs aside for this event, and I want to thank every single shopper too that has made this event possible, because of you all, a kid will be able to smile when they get a new wig, a part of whom they were before this horrible disease hit them. It's beautiful, really, to see the community coming together for such a big and wonderful event, year after year, like Hair Fair. So thank you, here's to many more years of Hair Fair, and more years where SL residents can contribute to the smile of a child that really needs it. And just remember, despite everything, despite whatever you feel is wrong with you.. just know.. Love yourself, and be yourself. There's nothing wrong with that. In fact, it's what makes you beautiful.

Disneybound: This week, Smee!

I feel like such a slacker, I haven't done this in forever it feels like.. two weeks, I might go back and redo them some time when I have time and I'm not feeling well, like I'll more than likely rework this picture because I'm not fully happy with it, but I'm sooooo dead right now all I want to do is lay down in my bed and pass out. However.. MUST WORK! I mean.. Smee, he's one of my favorite characters in Disney, basically because he's cute, and chubby, and a funny villain. He, in my opinion, is the reason why Peter Pan is so great! Him and the freaking crocodile, I loved Hook's reactions to hearing him. His style is very easy to translate into a wardrobe, luckily, all you need is blue stripes, comfortable shoes, and a red beanie! So I decided for this amazing dress from NYU, it has to be my favorite piece of this store by far, and it's saying a lot because they have so many great things. I also got the dorkiest glasses I could find because they're so adorable, and as far as the hair goes.. I know it's old and sculpted, but.. it has my RL and SL name on it, so I've never been able to rid it, and I'm so glad I didn't! Look at how amazing it is, and completes the outfit quite lovely. So.. on to the credits before I die!

My Inner Ears Must Be Showing!

Not only are my ears showing, but.. my inner child must be begging to come out! Oh well, such is life, I suppose. I can't get enough Disney Bounding, and while waiting rather impatiently for Collabor88 with friends of mine taunting me about it, I decided I would say a big f u to them, and instead of sitting down in a corner, rocking myself while sobbing impatiently for Collab to open, I would get my inner Mickey on, and show them. And so I did! Ears and all. And with this, I guess I should catch up with my haiku challenge from Berry, right? I couldn't add it in the picture.. because.. well, this was rather unexpected, and out of the blue, but.. here's my SL Haiku:

Blogger Challenge - SLDisney Bounding - Gaston

So, I said I might go back and do more of the past challenges to catch up, and I had to do Gaston. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite movies all of time, so.. Gaston was a bit of a challenge, to transfor such a manly character into a modern female version of it. Quite hard! But.. I managed it, and I even managed to use the new awesome gloves by R3VOLT. And a snarl, so Gaston. Did I mention I love Disney movies? This challenge is amazing, and I hope it goes on forever! Holy Cow, I'm White and Nerdy!

So.. while in school, I was the total nerd. No joke! I mean.. the only things I lacked were the glasses and the inhaler. But well.. yeah, I had glasses for a while. I was the big kid, with square glasses, Academic Decathlon, top of the class even though I never did my homework. I always read ahead of the class, and I wrote research papers for fun. Oh, yeah. I was majorly white and nerdy. So it's no doubt that I always wanted to do a nerdy type post. Nerds have a weak spot in my heart.. Because.. deep down, I guess I'm still the same white and nerdy girl that used to walk around Cinco Ranch High. Nerdy and to the extreme, bitches!

So.. how did I achieve this look? I didn't want to be just pure nerd, I wanted it to be fashionably nerdy, so, in Acid Lily, you'll find these cute blazers with undershirts from Even.Flow. Total love! Specially this nerdy red top with suspenders on them, I'll be honest, this inspired the whole look. At first there was a minor problem with the mesh, but the designer was really good about it, and fixed it in a couple hours, so thanks to all of them for that! And it comes as a lesson, guys, if you're nice, and kindly point out a small flaw in the item, they will appreciate it, just don't do it in a rude manner.. that gets you nothing, but a gentle pointing out will always be appreciated!

So.. the next thing was.. I need big HUGE nerdy glasses, so I grabbed Burley glasses, the readers from them.. total hit in the ball park, the only way they could be better is if they had tape on them.. but.. we're keeping it fashionable, so this is good. I also wanted messy hair, and since I'm a brunette in real life, and I'm using myself for some inspiration, I went brunette. Now, I don't know how long it's going to last.. But Elikatira still has their retirement sale going on, so make sure to grab all the styles before they go bye bye. They're only like.. 80L.. so don't wait! You'll regret it. I also wanted a messy bun, since that was pretty much my go to hair style, and still is... I guess old habits die hard. I finalize it with just a nice pair of jeans, since the top is baggy, I wanted tight skinny jeans, and I also wore comfortable flats that really didn't match the outfit just to make it more endearing.

Now.. Can't you see I'm white and nerdy?

I Got Rythm

And if you're going to be a flapper, you need rythm! And a good tune to go along with it! And an amazing outfit to leave everyone's mouth wide open. And class. And Collabor88.

Can you guys tell I'm just /slightly/ obsessed with collabor88? I seriously do jump up and down the whole month waiting for this day, and rush in midnight the day of. No exceptions. Has been so for almost six months, and that's not changing any time soon! But I mean.. All of my favorite stores.. or most.. together in one place.. and with very very very low prices? Come on! Of course I'll be all over that like white on rice!

So.. we got a couple down in the last post, and here are a couple more. I do love The Sea Hole, and I really should feature them more in my blog, I own almost everything made by them.. so... why? Don't ask me, mainly because my inventory is a mess no matter how many times I try to fix it, and I just pick things out at random. No, seriously, I do! I type out a color, and with the first thing I try on, I make an outfit around that... That's how bad my inventory is. But don't fret! I totally fell in love with this little dress and head band up for grabs at Collabor88. The dress is mesh, which is always a plus, and seriously.. to me.. it didn't only have that big party feel to it. I wanted to go back to the 1920's and get my flapping on. And I did!

I kind of paired the outfit with shoes that had kind of the same feel to them. These are from Deco, I grabbed them at a Lazy Sunday or 50 Linden Friday.. one of the two. Eitherway, they're still for sale in the store, and they fit perfectly with this dress, no matter what hue you get. I kinda have teal fever lately, so that worked great for me. And it also kind of matched my fan from Volstead, that with the peacock feathers.. it totally fit the style I was going for. Got some stockings from LOW as well in the marketplace, and finished it off with a feather boa, because every flapper needs one, and the Princess Jewelry set by Donna Flora.

Also in Collabor88 is this great little set for photographers, kind of a balloon mess with many different couples and single's poses. I totally love the effects you can get with your shadows by using it. Completely amazing.

And finally, I just want to give a huge thank you to Sachi Vixen, who after reading my small little note about the eyebrows, she actually got me a darker shade of eyebrows, so now I don't have to take this awesome skin off when I want to go blonde, and I look totally fabulous with my dimples and freckles and this awesome skin. It comes as a lesson guys, that sometimes.. me included, we feel that designers are almost like.. the SL equivalent of Gods. Our own personal Anna Wintours. But they're not! Most of them are as silly and fun and easy going as we are! If you ask /nicely/ for something, or point down a small defect/flaw in one of their designs in a /kind/ manner, chances are that they'll thank you for it, and help you out, or fix it! Never be afraid to ask! Remember, designers are people too. Just with awesome tastes and talents.

The Christmas Waltz with Acid Lilly

I'm getting into the Christmas mood this year, somehow, and I've never been the biggest Christmas fan. However, there's something about it that offers hope.. Maybe that's all that I need this year, hope.


... That is if we survive the end of the world!


Joke aside, there's nothing I want more right now than snow, lights, and Christmas presents, and giving back,  getting into that spirit that fills the heart.

You Better Believe in Voodoo Baby

I totally love this song, I have to admit, I'm a huge fan of Gossip Girl. I know, right? Shocker! Another fashion lover that is totally obsessed with that show! Well, I think it's only girls.. I've tried getting guys into it, and I just get smacked. But! I mean.. There's fashion, drama, class, money, scandals, and awesome music! Of course when I put together this little outfit, the first thing I thought of was one of my biggest inspirations in SL, Blair Waldorf, and when I thought of her.. I thought of this song. And well, that's how this set and all came to be.

So, where to start! For one, Fi*Friday is back, and Whatever has a cute pair of shoes that's just to die for, and only 55L. I love all things high fashion, and these boots just scream "Look at me! I'm sexy, and a badass! Booyah, baby!" So of course I had to get them.. and you should too! While at it, check the collection! Some of the stuff is not my taste, in all honesty, but it's not to bash and say it's not good, it's by far one of the best events to get cheap stuff of amazing quality!

Then, you have fameshed that just opened. Now, I love Color.Me.H.O.F., Fashionboy has some of the best  clothes in the grid right now! They kind of remind me of the Italian Fashions, and I adore it all! I could spend hours in that store and just drool over all the goodies. So, when she joined the fameshed crew, I just had to get the little leather skirt they have. Normally I go with blacks and neutrals, but stepped out of my comfort zone this time and decided to get navy.

I don't like dual toned shirts, which is what they have out to go with the skirt. Not saying that they're bad at all, it's just not in my preference, I like safe fashion, not much of an uber risk taker, so I paired it off with a tucked in Edelweiss shirt, and the bow to go along with it. Now that I had the "uniform" look going, I added a pair of gartered socks, corky hair from Burley, and the new Special Edition skin from WoW Skins, the end result- an adorable Blair Waldorf inspired design. I think she'd be proud.

Too cheesy? Oh well, but it's true, I adore shopping, and finding new things.. and right now there's an amazing skin out by WoW Skins, Isabella. It comes on a full avatar set with an outfit and everything, but me... personally, I totally just used it for the skin. Sue me :P.

Also saddens me to say that there's a closing sale at Nani's poses.. Yes, it's terrible news, however, on the other hand, cheap poses for all. The sale only lasts until the 18th! Which is tomorrow! So hurry up and grab it all before it shuts down, nothing is over 50L.

Also, no secret that I love Auxiliary. Now, with me having been gone for so long.. or at least it feels like forever for me, I didn't get a chance to go to TDR to get their cheapie from there. Adorable little cocktail dress that makes me go "ohhh oh oh oh!" Comes in pink and blue, and it's too adorable Not to own.

Finally! Burley is one of the best stores for hair in my opinion, and right now they came up with a clever way of dividing up the store. Burley will be known as Taketomi, and they are already open with some of the best hairs ever, totally what you would expect from Burley's makers. Then they're going to have a man's fashion in a store called Gavi, which will be all high fashion, which is right now very much needed in sl, and then there's going to be Collective, which will have women's and men's vintage urban/modern fashion. I'm so stoked! Taketomi is already opened, as I said, and I'm totally in love with the hairstyle in these pictures, Maggie.

Going for a week in sl is like going for a year, you miss out on so much crap! ARGH!

The Riot's Gone.. Away

Don't you just love it when you find a new designer that totally makes you eep? Guess what?

I found one! I did! I found one!!!

So, when it comes to skins, the normal for me pop up, Vive9, Essences, Auxiliary, Glam Affair, blah blah blah.. Laq and more blah. Yeah, there's lots of stores out there, but I found a designer that makes absolutely amazing and breath taking skins that are just to die for! And, well, when it comes to skins, I'm rather picky, I don't want to find a twin with my shape and skin while shopping.. And these skins are original, high quality, lots of definition, and just mouth drooling awesomeness! Loomi skins are seriously some of the best I've seen in grid, and for sure worth a trip to take a look at the store. It's small, and it's humble, but it's got plenty of potential! I can't wait for this little shop to turn into the powerhouse that it deserves to be. 

In other news.. I totally I'm just dying head over heels over the Collaor88 collection this month. The theme is desert, and the little outfit by The Sea Hole is just.. amazing and drool worthy, So, if you haven't done so, go take a trip down to Collabor88, it's for sure worth the lag people! <3

Lazy Sunday is upon us, and sadly, Second Life at the moment is broken. Seriously! Like.. I'm logged in, and I'm scared to log out. But.. at the same time.. I want to! No one has names to them! Teleports are broken. Search is broken. Oh, Linden, what have you done now?!

At any rate, I managed to sneak some quick snapshots before going to bed from some of the items that I really enjoyed.

Drift has a very cute Boho Chic maxi dress to them that also screams out "FALL'' with its knit pattern and the cute brown color to it. Now, I'm not the biggest fan of brown, I'm more of a black and white chic myself, but.. I have to give it to the creator, the dress is totally chic! Plastik has a cute pair of pumps out too, that I'll have to play some more with when SL is not broken, and I can fix my graphics so that the color of the skin matches the prim foot! URGH! SL, why are you torturing me so tonight!? At any rate, the color combination of the shoes is extremely adorable, and also very fallish.

Talking about fall, it's almost time for all the fall hunts! And Atooly is doing the "Fall Into the Season Hunt", which I'll be blogging more about later. Right now, I have the nails from Laville, which are very cute, mesh, and can be resized to fit /your/ hand size just via HUD, and comes it a lot of different colors. Did I mention it's free? :O For sure a must grab the fifth!

And another Friday is upon us, which means two things, The Dressing Room, and Fifty Linden Fridays. Both events that I die all week just waiting for them to happen and open up. And well, there were some few amazing things that are going on today on Fifty Linden Fridays and TDR! 
For one, Ingenue is part of this weekend's line up, and they came up with this new adorable skirt, and one of them, the yellow one, is available for only 50L today, so you better hurry up and get it before it goes back to full price! Then Deco is in the line up too, with these adorable mesh sequined pumps.
Essences is in this week's line up for the TDR, and it doesn't dissapoint, it has a 70L Skin out, and with a couple make up choices for you to add. If you wear Essences skins, even if you don't care for the paleness of this skin they have up for grabs this week, the lipgloss options are totally a must for any of their skins, so I'd suggest you rush over and quickly grab them before they're gone in two weeks!

All You Need Is Love... And Fameshed....

Ah, Don't you love the first of each month? I do, and I'll let you know just why that is.

Fameshed.

Yes indeed, if you haven't heard, Fameshed is an event where some of the best mesh creators in the grid get together, and sell some of their collection in the Fresco sim. Oh, yeah, heads up.. fameshed has indeed moved! So, time to update those lm's. 

Now, they do have a lot of adorable things, my favorite was a little ensemble I put together with three of the items that they have in there. First of all. Tee*fy.. One of my all time favorite stores. I absolutely love their work, and their mini skirt for fameshed is just what my inventory was missing. Now.. as you also know, I'm a huge lover of The Secret Store, and they have joined the Fameshed crew this month with a little top that is just absolutely adorable and extremely vintage! And those shoes by NYU.. Need I say more? So.. I went for a very retro chic look for today with items that I found in fameshed. Totally worth the lag and the trip if you guys can make it out there!

So, yesterday I bragged about my new little find, *Tea Time*. Well, today I'm over at Crack Den.. just minding my own RP business, when suddenly, the new group drops down a notice.. and to my delight, it was a sale going in this little gem that I found. Yup, I got a note card, and it read:

I said "Holy Cow, bai." And teleported over to Tea Time as fast as you can say "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" And made my way there. They had a lot of cute stuff! But my favorite was this little Mexican style dress for only 50L. AND MESH. And did I mention it was pretty? Normally I'm not much of the boho chic type gal, but seriously, this was too cute to pass out on, so I got it, along with other couple things. But my favorite so far is really that little Mexican style dress that I paired with some jeans and some boots, and a little more.. indy type hair style.. Result? Adorable.

Fridays with Sansa

It's friday again... and I think this would make my blog a week old? Or something like that.. I think it's a week either today or tomorrow, though it already feels like I'm doing it forever. The only reason I know it's a week it's because its Fi*Friday.. Fifty Linden Friday, and TDR. Can you tell Fridays are my favorite shopping day?

In all honesty though, I was a little sad face at this week's fashion selection.. Just wasn't much that I really cared for, however, I did find a little number at the TDR, where I snuck in early.. I know, I know.. Bad Sash.. But I always do it, so deal with it. Illmatic joins the TDR line up this friday with this little cute partial mesh number that I have on. Totally love it! mixed with some pumps, even with all the cut out, which normally I'm not a big fan of.. it looks cute, classy, and fashion forwards.

I grabbed my friend Sansa along with me today, because.. I wanted to mess around with photoshop some more.. watched some tutorials, not a big fan! Stupid white halos. Anyways, after hours of messing with pictures, this is the final print. Deal with it.

Ingenue Love.

It should not be a mystery by now that my style is more.. retro? Vintage? Yeah, totally vintage. I don't  care for showing more skin, for some reason, I care more about the older style.. longer skirts, classy do's.. Love it all.

With that being said.. have you guys heard of Ingenue? By far one of my new favorite stores in the grid. Found them in collabor88, and I swear, I'm hooked to this store. My newest drug and reason for all those linden spent : (. Ok.. not so much of a sad face for me.. just for my husband's wallet.

I went today to just check out what they had, and see if they had anything that I didn't already own.. I settled for a cute dress a little outside of my plain, none unicolor anti pattern outlook on clothing, and honestly, not disappointed!

Ah, don't you love the smell of fresh post in the morning?

I don't know, I've never smelled it. But hopefully it smells good, since that's what I'm doing.

Lately I've seen a lot of people do blogs in sl, and I've done many a things in sl, but never blogged. And if there's two things that I'm good at, it's writing, and looking hot in sl. So why not?

So here's my first post for the day.. week... EVER!

I went to the dressing room blue last night, even though they seem to be going down in quality at times, but you never know! You can always score some cute stuff.. I got lucky yesterday, I scored a sweet dress from MONS for only 70L, which, for the quality of this dress, it really is a steal. Paired it with some dark tights from {Mon Tissu} and an updo from [Burley] And I was done and ready to head out. Easy quick look for a cocktail party, or for when you want to look classy.
