The Sad Cafe

If you haven't been able to tell, there's something about melancholic songs that always captivates me. The music is so soothing, and you always feel some sort of connection to the song. Have to say, this song by the Eagles for sure was my inspiration for today.

And this awesome amazing dress too! How amazing is it? So, we're in 2013, and the new trend for this year, what's really.. really hot right now, is what they call extreme structuring. What that means is that the dress plays with geometric shapes in order to distort your body visually in a rather appealing manner. I believe this dress is like.. hitting the nail in the head when it comes to this trend. Now, MichaMi has always sort of played with this, be it lines, or the actual structure of the dress, or even the patterns, the use of her work contributes to adding a new silhouette and more dimension to your body, and it is for this reason that I absolutely adore Milla's work. The pattern of this dress also sets it apart from all others, and in all honesty, to a lot of people, when they saw it in the marketplace, it didn't really look appealing to them, but once they saw the dress on, they were fascinated at just how the sides made the contour work of the avatar really pop out in a fashion forward manner. This dress is a must for the new years, specially given the trend for this type work that is in style this year.

To style it, keep it popping,  but simple. I know.. contradiction there, but like.. the hair, instead of having it down, you might want to keep it up, in a bun, to continue with the silhouette working. I'm wearing Magika's new hair release that came out yesterday, Now. As far as a necklace is concerned, yes, you do want a statement piece, but you don't want to steal the attention away from the dress either. A choker would do nicely here, or like I did, a high necklace, that way I'm keeping the main focus on the dress, but at the same time, I'm making a statement. LaGyo's Venhia necklace was the best choice, in my opinion, given that I wanted to part from pearls for the day. And I'm also wearing their Edwige pumps and a ring by Donna Flora to finish giving the outfit the pops it needed.. and practicality, of course. Can't leave home without your shoes!

Darling, Here Lies Love.

Nothing like a soulful song to start the day.. or in my case, end it. Soothing melody, yet at the same time has a beat that makes you feel strong, powerful, and sexy.. God I love Diana Krall. Darn you Colbert for introducing me to this amazing songstress. So.. since Colbert shared with us, and gave her the Colbert bump.. I have to pass on.. her voice is extremely sexy, and her beats are amazing, the perfect song for a sexy little Saturday morning.

So.. now that we got our musical little note out of the way.. I love feeling like a million bucks in Second life, now.. what I mean is.. I love to look classy, and beautiful, normally I would call myself like.. I don't know.. I would sound pretentious, but I guess, a way to say it, without sounding pretentious is that I take a lot of my fashion queues from people like Kate Middleton, and Michelle Obama in my daily style. A signature style that makes you feel feminine, yet powerful. And that's what today is all about, how to look sexy and classy at the same time. Strong and powerful, yet with a hint of class and femininity that will have eyes darting your way at all times.

MichaMi has always been one of my favorite stores in SL. I found them.. I'd like to say at least a year ago? Or two.. ? When you're in SL time kind of merges together.. so hard to tell, the point is.. I found them in the Dressing Room back in the day, and since I saw them, I fell in love! Their styles were so fashion forward, and gorgeous! So.. I'm highlighting two of their newest releases, two dresses that, if you're in  that same style that I am, are just a must have for every fashionista in SL!

More TDR Goodness

So.. I went back to The Dressing Room tonight.. just to check out what other goodies there were. I was not disappointed!

It should not be a secret that I'm totally in love with Essences skins, the highlights and shadows of the skin are phenomenal, and I completely adore how they make the noises, and the small freckles and mole details... Yeah, I'm a fan. So, the new skin that they have there.. at a bargain price of 75L or so.. Yeah, totally worth it. I swear, sometimes you find the best skins at the cheapest of prices.. when skins are normally the most expensive thing in the world.

I also found a cute new tee, which is more.. elegant and professional, which totally fits me, so I had to get it. I paired it up with some pumps and the Oxford skirt of Mon Tissu. And I thought that the black hair looked better with the skin rather than the normal blonde that I wear, so... I totally went with my Mischief Managed character, which is a totally awesome Harry Potter sim you should check out, and gave her a makeover, slightly so, anyways. If you haven't been to Mischief Managed, it's actually an amazingly well built sim, full mesh build, that really lets you feel as if you were indeed in Hogwarts. Just the build alone is worth checking out.
